Berinag is a beautiful hill station located in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, at the elevation of 1860 mt. from the mean sea level. Berinag is surrounded with Himalayas & offers a panoramic view of the Greater Himalayas, from Garhwal Himalays to the Nepal ranges, specially lofty peaks like Panchachuli and Nanda Devi. The region is famous for tea estates devloped during the British rule. It used to be well known like Darjeeling for it's Tea Gardens. The tea nourished here was such an good taste that the best quality tea used to export in European countries. Berinag lies on the National Highway NH 309A , every year The holy "Kailsh Mansarovar Yatra" pass from here . This Hill station is not less then a heaven for the mountain lovers and tourister. 1. Berinag Temple : This temple is dedicated to the Mighty "Nag Devta" the Isht dev of this region. This is a snake temple Of "Nag Dev" and situated on the top of Berinag hill, and because it's top of the hill so it provides a clear View of Himalayas. This is the best place to get an idea about the topography of the area.

What's Special : 'Berinag' earlier called "Bedinag" which means Wrapped Snake , is called "Nagbhoomi" the land of mighty snakes. The region have a large no of snake temples, our of them some are so well known that people's from outside the State and regions come here to get the blessings of Shree "Bedinag Devta" . In this region the Snakes are worshipped as the are the descendants of Nag dev . Killing snakes in the region is strictly prohibited.

2. Choukori: 

Choukori is a beautiful tourist place at an elevation of 2000 meter above sea level, having quite similar property to the berinag. Having tea gardens, luxurious resorts , and panaromic views of Nanda Khat and Panchachuli Peaks. From Choukori a much better experience of Himalayan view can be experienced. It seems winter almost the year. Snow fall can be enjoyed in the winter season. Easy to approach , it just besides the highway.

3. Chheed Warerfall : Cheed waterfall is one of the most enthralling waterfall of the Kumaon region and situated near 'Garaun' village in Berinag. It falls from a height of 160 ft. In the rainy season when the waterfall is full on flow , it provides a thrilling and adventurous experience.

How To Reach : Waterfall is not so far and with the help of a local guide or villagers can be reached easily by trekking for one or two hours.

Best Time to Visit : The ideal time to visit waterfall is between Jult to September, because this time the discharge is in its pinnacle .
